In engineering and geoscience work, technical reviews (Peer Reviews and Independent Reviews) are an important part of professional practice; however, confusion exists around the expectations and obligations of conduct related to these technical reviews. Engineers and Geoscientists BC's Professional Practice Guidelines on Peer Review and Quality Management Guides establish the various roles and responsibilities regarding technical reviews and clarify obligations of engineering and geoscience professionals who conduct reviews, or are subject to review, within any discipline or area of practice. In this webinar, we will discuss professional and ethical conduct, Peer Reviews, Independent Reviews, Expert Opinions, and Documented Checks.
Learn what your professional obligations are when completing a peer review, or when having your own work reviewed by another professional; considerations for registrant firms involved in peer reviews are also included.
Registrants will come away from this webinar with a clearer understanding of obligations when reviewing the work of another professional (or having their work reviewed) and expectations of professional conduct.
