FEES & INSURANCE

Fee Guidelines for Engineering Services This document is a guide to be used in establishing professional fees to be charged by consulting engineers for projects completed in British Columbia.

Calculating Hourly Chargeout Rates This draft Guideline was   prepared by APEGBC's Consulting Practice Committee to assist sole practitioners to establish hourly chargeout rates for professional engineering or professional geoscience services.

Compensation Survey Report This report presents the findings of the biennial compensation survey of APEGBC members undertaken by the Association in early 2002. Recent surveys were undertaken previously in 2000 and 1998. The information provided reflects the total annual compensation and benefits earned by APEGBC members employed in full-time positions in BC and illustrates the effects of factors such as responsibility level, year of graduation, industry and region.

Professional Liability Insurance
APEGBC Association Bylaw 17(a) states:
Before entering into an agreement to provide professional engineering or professional geoscience services to the public, a member, licensee or certificate holder must notify the client, in writing, whether or not professional liability insurance is held and whether that insurance is applicable to the services in question. The note shall include a provision for an acknowledgement of the advice to be signed by the client. Click here for a list of Professional Liability Insurance Providers.

Association members have voted to make Secondary Professional Liability Insurance coverage a mandatory requirement of registration with APEGBC.
