Standing Committees and Task Forces
The affairs of the Association are managed by Council and the Executive Director, supplemented by standing boards and committees, and ad hoc committees and task forces which may be established by Council from time to time.

Committee Function
APEG Foundation A registered charity incorporated under the Society Act that supports engineering and geoscience education through scholarships.
APEGBC/ABCFP Joint Practice Board Considers issues under the MoU involving the education and practice of engineering, geoscience and forestry in the forest industry.
APEGBC/AIBC Certified Professionals Program Specialist Designation Working Group Joint collaboration in establishing CP Programs which are administered by AIBC and APEGBC for respective members.
APEGBC/AIBC Enhanced Building Envelope Services (EBES):  Specialist Designation Working Group AIBC and APEGBC work jointly in consideration and possible establishment of programs designating qualified architects and professional engineers as specialists in "enhanced building envelope services" (EBES).
APEGBC/AIBC Joint Practice Board To address matters of joint-practice: scopes of practice, overlap,common concern and jurisdiction; and to make recommendations to the AIBC and APEGBC Councils.
APEGBC/AIBC Joint Strategy Board To identify and examine social, economic, environmental, legislative and technological issues whose potential impact on the practice of the professions warrant strategic analysis and common approach.
APEGBC/ASTTBC Joint Board Joint Board initially established through a Memorandum of Agreement, reporting to ASTTBC and APEGBC Councils to provide guidance and issue resolution to the Councils.
Applications Committee Evaluates working experience of applicants in various disciplines.
Audit Committee Oversees the external audit, financial and risk management affairs and internal controls.
Board of Examiners Evaluates academic qualifications of applicants.
Branches Fifteen geographical branches carry on local activities.
Building Codes Committee Reviews matters relating to building regulations in BC.
Building Enclosure Committee Develops and administers program to qualify individual professional engineers and architects as Building Enclosure Professionals.
Consulting Practice Committee Reviews matters relating to professional aspects of engineering and geoscience consulting.
Continuing Professional Development Committee Reviews matters relating to continuing professional development for members.
Discipline Committee Discipline Panels hold courts of inquiry into conduct of members.
Division for Advancement of Woman in Engineering and Geoscience APEGBC Division to review professional issues affecting women engineers and geoscientists.

Division of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy

APEGBC Division to review professional issues affecting energy efficiency and renewable energy for engineers and geoscientists.
Division of Engineers and Geoscientists in the Resource Sector APEGBC Division to review professional issues affecting geoscientists and engineers working in the forest industry.
Division of Environmental Professionals APEGBC Division to review professional issues affecting environmental engineering and environmental geoscience.
Editorial Board Advises on editorial content and solicits articles for Innovation.
Engineers Benevolent Fund A registered charity devoted to assisting members in financial distress.
Executive Committee As delegated by Council, acts for Council when time dictates.
Geoscience Committee Reviews academic qualifications and experience of applicants for registration.
Governance Committee Responsible for overseeing and assessing the functioning of Council, committees, task forces, branches and divisions.  effective governance principles and policies. 
Investigation Committee Investigates complaints against members. Recommends formal hearings as warranted.
Legislative Implementation Task Force Provide bylaw, consultation, policy, procedure and strategy recommendations to Council for implementation of the 2012 Act Changes.
Mentoring Committee Assists EITs and GITs in working towards professional registration.
Municipal Engineers Division APEGBC Division to review professional issues affecting municipal engineers.
Nominating Committee To nominate members for the office(s) of President, Vice President and for elected members of the Council.
Professional Practice Committee To assist Council to become informed on matters concerning the practice of professional engineering and professional geoscience.
Practice Review Committee Responsible for practice review of members.
Registration Committee Sets and implements the policies of Council regarding the application process and professional licensing with APEGBC.
Registration Fairness Panel To examine the fairness of the admissions review process when a request for reassessment or appeal is made that has resulted in reconfirmation of the decision or in an outcome that is not acceptable to the applicant.
Registration Process Reengineering Task Force To advise the Registration Committee, at a minimum, on an improved and more effective experience review process for new P.Eng. Applicants
Registration Task Force Studies and advises on registration-related issues.
Seismic Peer Review Committee Funded by BC Provincial Government for the development of Guidelines for the seismic retrofit of school buildings.
Seismic Technical Review Board Support the application of retrofitting methods for specific school buildings.
Standing Awards Committee Solicits and reviews nominations for the President's Awards and recommends winners to Council.
Structural Qualifications Board Liaises with other committees and keep Council and the engineering community informed of the program progress.
Sustainability Committee Promotes an understanding of applying sustainability principles to professional practice.
Value for Money Steering Committee The Value for Money Steering Committee’s mandate is to design and steer the review process and engage the external consultant.
