New Director Derrick Underwood Starts July 17

Engineers and Geoscientists BC is pleased to announce the appointment of Derrick Underwood to the role of Director, Information Systems, effective July 17. 

In this role, Derrick will oversee all Information Systems activities, including application development; system management, such as our Knowledge Centre and registrant database; systems infrastructure, including information security and cybersecurity; and user-support functions.

Derrick is a seasoned technology leader, with over 25 years of experience that spans enterprise technologies, business strategy, and creating digital transformations.

He has spent the last 8 years working for post-secondary institutions, including his most recent role as Director, Enterprise Technology at BCIT, where he held Chief Technical Officer responsibilities and effectively delivered technology solutions for the institute. Prior to his time at BCIT, Derrick worked with Athabasca University, and was Vice President of OSI, an international technology and business consulting firm. 

Derrick is passionate about technology, problem solving, and building high-value teams. He approaches challenges with curiosity, and has extensive experience building organizational maturity and leading departments to deliver modern technology services for multiple stakeholders.
