Discipline Notice: David Dwyer

On May 18, 2023, an Extraordinary Action Panel of the Discipline Committee of Engineers and Geoscientists BC (the Panel) suspended Mr. Dwyer’s registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC. Mr. Dwyer is not permitted to engage in the reserved practice of professional engineering in BC.

The extraordinary action proceeding arose following four separate investigations into Mr. Dwyer’s engineering practice related to his design of wastewater systems in the interior region of BC and other professional conduct issues including the use of his engineering seal.

The Panel determined that a suspension was necessary given Mr. Dwyer’s failure to adhere to the most basic requirements of document retention and his disregard for the procedures regarding authenticating documents. The Panel concluded there would be an unacceptable level of risk to the public if Mr. Dwyer were permitted to continue to engage in the practice of professional engineering.

On May 30, 2023, Mr. Dwyer resigned his registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC. Mr. Dwyer is not entitled to engage in the profession of engineering in British Columbia. The four underlying matters will continue through the discipline process.
